Eliquis is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age. Effects of Eliquis on pregnant woman and her unborn child are not known.   • have a serious liver disorder which can lead to increased threat of bleeding (hepatic coagulopathy)
  • are already taking other anticoagulant medications like warfarin (COUMADIN), heparin, rivoroxaban (XARELTO), dabigatran (PRADAXA) to prevent blood clots, unless any of these medications has been switched to Eliquis by your health care professional.
  • are taking prasugrel (EFFIENT) or ticagrelor (BRILINTA)
  • are pregnant
  • are taking oral ketoconazole (anti-fungal drug)
  • are receiving epidural pain control after surgery
  • have an artificial valve in heart
  • are allergic to Apixiban or any other ingredients of Eliquis
Before taking Eliquis always talk to your health care professional in case you have any of the following,
  • Increased risk of bleeding like, bleeding disorders, stomach ulcers, infection in heart, recent bleeding in brain

  • Severe kidney disorder
  • A tube/catheter implanted in your back

  • Your age is 75 years or older
